Review: BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed

BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector applied to my cheekbone, under my brows, above brow, and center of nose.
So this review is a tad bit late, but better late than never right? So I’m currently still mourning the death of the television show Hannibal. Though there are still a couple of episodes left, I cant get over the fact that its almost over. In these trying times I need my highlight to be ferocious. Seriously, I need my highlight to shine like a beacon through the night, to get me through these sad times…fabulously of course.

This is where the limited edition Sephora exclusive BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector comes in.  This $38 highlight was created by BECCA cosmetics in collaboration with YouTube guru Jaclyn Hill, who has partnered with Gerard Cosmetics and Morphe Brushes in the past, and it does not disappoint.

Highlight with plastic protector insert with company logo and Jaclyn's signature

The highlight is described as a soft white gold with pinky peach undertones; on my skin tone it’s more of a warm pale gold that gives a very apparent but very subtle shine. Apparent because of the fact that its amazingly beautiful and reflects light/life amazingly; subtle because its not packed with shimmer. My pores don’t appear to be emphasized with this highlight and that is the mark of a truly amazing highlight. Also, a lot of people are saying it’s WOC of color friendly and I’m leaning more towards the fact that it is, but please try it out for yourself first.

BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector

The formula for this highlighter is the traditional BECCA ‘shimmering skin perfector’ formula. The highlight itself is so creamy and so pigmented; I only need to lightly touch my brush to the product to get amazing payoff and shine. The glow lasts on my cheeks ALL DAY and polishes off my makeup beautifully.

My only problem with the Champagne Pop highlighter is how sensitive the product is. When I (and many others) first received the highlight in the mail it came complete shattered (Sephora quickly sent a new one). This highlighter IS NOT I REPEAT IS NOT travel friendly. You could of course attempt to protect the highlight with paper towel or cotton pads to keep the product safe during travel, but even then it’s too sensitive and could easily shatter. Best to keep it at home at the vanity.

Long story short, I would definitely recommend this highlight. It’s very beautiful and also very limited edition; You get 8 grams of beautiful highlight for $38 and an envy worthy glow.

So have you gotten Champagne Pop fever? Recommend any dupes? Like the product? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I am a big fan of Becca highlighters. They are so good in quality, so well pigmented and so looks so good on me. Really good and long lasting. I bought this one after doing my makeup lessons for pro artists by expert Lina, I am trying out new makeup items to improve my knowledge and skills. Lina is really good and best in my town.
